Monogram Denim Bag
A monogram you pull out of the cloth, not print onto it

The work
A bag made from denim frayed back to its threads, where the pattern is formed by the fraying itself.
Notes
Denim is a twill, so the weft crosses the warp at an angle. Pull the weft out in one direction and the warp is left standing, and what stands is a diagonal. Repeat it in a grid and the diagonal becomes a monogram.
Nothing is printed and nothing is stitched on. The mark is the absence of thread, which means it cannot fade, peel or crack, and it will keep opening slightly for as long as the bag is used.
Hardware is left raw so it marks the cloth around it. In a year the bag will have a second pattern nobody designed.
Frayed cotton denim, raw hardware.
